Sexual Trauma Therapy Services

Trying to cope and deal with the impact of being sexually abused/assaulted on your own can seem hopeless.

We are here to help, so let's go on your healing journey together.

Sexual trauma is one of the most devastating experiences a person can survive.  Not only is it a huge violation of one's body but the trauma can also create long lasting emotional and psychological issues ranging from post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), relationship problems, trust issues, feelings of shame and guilt, eating disorders, anxiety issues, depression, addiction, self harming, and suicidal thoughts.

Unfortunately, many survivors receive little or no sexual abuse/assault specific therapy to help them deal with their past unresolved sexual trauma, so despite surviving the trauma, they may still have PTSD symptoms of flashback memories, terrors, and nightmares.  Many survivors continue to go through life carrying the weight of their past alone on their shoulders.  It's heavy baggage to carry alone, so let us help you get rid of your baggage and live a freer, lighter, and happier life that you deserve.

Some survivors may have been through 'general counselling' in the past to deal with 'anxiety' or 'depression' issues which is a direct result of sexual trauma but without actually ever working through the trauma with their counsellor/therapist, so long lasting improvements would be minimal or superficial at best.  This may leave survivors feeling defeated and hopeless that they will never be able to get better.

At Talk with Grace, we provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space with a highly skilled sexual trauma specialist to gently explore your areas of struggle, discover new coping skills, and help you process your trauma so you can finally leave your past and pain behind you.  You deserve a chance to heal and to be free of any shame or guilt feelings that survivors often carry for a very long time.  It's time to invest in your well-being.

There are two therapy services available either Individual Therapy or Child & Family Therapy.

Individual Therapy

For adolescents over 16 years old and adults (male, female, LGTBQ, non-binary) who are survivors of child sexual abuse, sexual assault, sex exploitation, sex trafficking, incest, or ritual abuse.

Child & Family Therapy

For children under 16 years of age who have experienced child sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, sex trafficking, incest, or ritual abuse.

Child sexual abuse is traumatizing not only to the victim but we also understand how devastating it is to the parent as well so that is why we will work to heal the family.  Evidence based research has shown that when a non-offending parent or caregiver is involved in a child's therapy for sexual abuse, there is a significant reduction in symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Children need a supportive parent who will be able to understand what they've gone through and can remind them to apply coping strategies taught in therapy.
