I'm Grace Liu, the owner of Talk with Grace. As a registered social worker and experienced psychotherapist with 20 years of clinical experience, I provide individual and family counselling to children, adolescents, and adults. My work encompasses a broad range of concerns, including sexual abuse and assault, domestic violence, relationship difficulties, suicidal ideation, parenting challenges, depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, and other significant life stressors.  With a compassionate and client-centered approach, I am committed to helping individuals and families navigate their unique challenges and move toward healing, resilience, and personal growth.

I have been a registered member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers since 2006 and am also a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers.  My academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto, a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Carleton University, and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto. This strong educational foundation, combined with years of clinical experience, allows me to provide informed, ethical, and compassionate care to clients across all ages and life stages.

With many years of extensive training, education, and clinical experience specifically focused on sexual abuse and assault, I bring a deep level of expertise to supporting survivors of sexual trauma. This is an area of practice I am deeply committed to, and I believe every survivor deserves the opportunity to heal and reclaim their life.  Beginning therapy takes immense courage, especially when addressing experiences that are deeply painful and personal. My goal is to provide a safe, compassionate space where you can begin to process your trauma, release the weight of the past, and move forward toward healing and empowerment.

In addition to providing counselling services, I am deeply committed to educating both children and their parents or caregivers about child sexual abuse and personal safety — an essential step in preventing victimization and keeping children safe.  I believe that prevention through education is one of the most powerful tools we have to protect and empower children. Sexual abuse is often a difficult and uncomfortable topic for parents to discuss with their children.  That belief inspired me to create the "Child Sexual Abuse Awareness" workshop — fun, engaging, child-friendly, and age-appropriate interactive online format designed to provide a safe, supportive space where both children and parents/caregivers can learn to talk openly and confidently about this important issue.  My approach focuses on building awareness, fostering open communication, and equipping children with the knowledge and skills needed to stay safe and supported.

This unique workshop helps children and their parents/caregiver understand the dangers of sexual abuse, recognize the common tactics abusers use to keep children silent, and know what steps to take if abuse occurs.  Children are taught how to protect themselves, how to seek help, and how to respond to unsafe situations.  The goal is to break the silence around this topic, strengthen parent-child communication, and provide families with the tools they need to stay informed, connected, and safe.
