Sexual Trauma Therapy Services

Trying to cope with the impact of sexual abuse or assault on your own can feel overwhelming — even hopeless at times. The pain, confusion, and emotional weight can touch every area of life, making it hard to move forward.

Healing is possible.  You don’t have to carry this burden alone.  You can feel better, more whole, and more in control of your life. You deserve a space where your trauma is acknowledged, your story is honoured, and your recovery is fully supported.

Understanding the Impact of Sexual Trauma

Sexual trauma is one of the most devastating experiences a person can endure. It’s not only a profound violation of one’s body — it can leave deep emotional and psychological scars that may affect every aspect of life.

Survivors often struggle with a wide range of long-lasting effects, including:

  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

  • Relationship and trust issues

  • Persistent feelings of shame and guilt

  • Eating disorders

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Addiction

  • Self-harming behaviours

  • Suicidal thoughts

These reactions are not signs of weakness — they are natural responses to a deeply traumatic experience.

Why Trauma-Focused Therapy Matters

Unfortunately, many survivors of sexual abuse or assault never receive specialized support to help them process and heal from their trauma.  While they may have survived the experience, the psychological and emotional impact often remains unresolved.  Without trauma-informed care, survivors can continue to experience distressing symptoms such as flashbacks, nightmares, and night terrors — signs of lingering PTSD.  Many individuals carry the invisible weight of past trauma throughout their lives, often feeling isolated in their experience.

Some survivors of sexual abuse or assault may have previously sought support—often through general counselling to manage symptoms such as anxiety or depression. While this type of support can provide temporary relief, it may not fully address the core issue: the unresolved trauma itself.  Without the opportunity to process sexual trauma within a safe, specialized, and supportive environment, progress can feel surface-level or short-lived. This can leave survivors feeling frustrated, discouraged, and as though lasting healing is out of reach.  But it is not. True healing is possible—with the right kind of trauma-informed therapy, care, and support.

Specialized Therapy for Survivors of Sexual Trauma

We provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental therapeutic environment in which individuals can begin the process of healing from sexual trauma.  Under the guidance of a highly trained and experienced sexual trauma psychotherapist, clients are supported in gently exploring areas of difficulty, developing effective coping strategies, and processing unresolved trauma.  Our approach is grounded in empathy, clinical expertise, and trauma-informed care, with the goal of helping survivors move beyond the pain of their past.

- Every individual deserves the opportunity to heal.
- Every survivor deserves to be free from the burden of shame and guilt that often lingers for years.
- Every person has the right to live a life that is lighter, freer, and more at peace.

Now is the time to invest in your emotional well-being — and to reclaim the life you are fully deserving of.

Sexual Trauma Therapy Services Offered

We offer two primary sexual trauma therapy services to best meet the needs of our clients:

  1. Individual Therapy
One-on-one counselling for individuals over 16 years old seeking treatment for child sexual abuse, sexual assault, sex exploitation, sex trafficking, incest, ritual abuse, and other trauma-related experiences. This service provides a confidential and personalized space to explore your experiences, develop effective coping strategies, and work toward meaningful healing and personal growth.

  2. Child and Family Therapy
For children under 16 years old seeking treatment for child sexual abuse, sexual assault, sex exploitation, sex trafficking, incest, ritual abuse, and other trauma-related experiences.  Child sexual abuse is a profoundly traumatic experience — not only for the child, but also for the parents and caregivers who love and support them. We recognize the emotional toll this trauma can have on the entire family system, which is why our therapeutic approach is designed to support and strengthen both the child and their non-offending parent or caregiver.  Research consistently shows that when a non-offending parent or caregiver is actively involved in a child’s therapy following sexual abuse, the child experiences a significantly greater reduction in symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Parental support is a critical component of a child's recovery.  Children need a trusted adult who understands their experience, validates their emotions, and helps reinforce the coping strategies introduced in therapy. By equipping caregivers with the tools, knowledge, and emotional support they need, we work together to foster a healing environment both in therapy and at home.  Our goal is to help rebuild safety, trust, and resilience — for the child, and for the family as a whole.
