Meet Grace Liu (BA, BSW, MSW, RSW)
Hello. I'm Grace Liu, the owner of Talk with Grace. I’m a registered social worker and highly skilled psychotherapist for over 15 years of clinical experience working with children, youth, and adults who are mainly survivors of sexual abuse/ assault. Since 2006, I've been a member of the Ontario College of Social Worker and Social Service Workers. Also, I'm a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers.

Sexual violence is one of the most heinous and traumatic experiences that often leaves its victims with long lasting emotional and psychological pain and suffering, so this was one of the reasons why I decided to devote my time and energy in helping survivors of sexual violence. My passion to help sexual abuse/assault survivors was ignited while I studied criminology in my Bachelor of Arts degree (University of Toronto) and continued while I completed my Bachelor of Social Work degree (Carlton University) and a Master of Social Work degree (University of Toronto). For decades, sexual violence has been my main area of interest and specialty, and I have many years of extensive specialized sexual abuse/assault trainings, education, and clinical experience in this particular topic. I truly want every survivor to have an opportunity to heal from their traumatic experiences. It takes a lot of courage for someone to be ready for therapy in hopes for a chance to finally move on and not let the past continue to hold you back anymore.

Along with providing therapy, I am equally passionate in educating children and parents/caregivers about child sexual abuse and safety skills. I strongly believe that teaching both kids and their parents/caregivers about sexual abuse is vital to keeping kids safe from being continued victims of sexual abuse, so that's why I created a fun, very child-friendly, age-appropriate, and interactive workshop called "Child Sexual Abuse Awareness". Sexual abuse is usually a very uncomfortable topic for most parents to discuss with their children. This workshop is uniquely created by me to make both children and parents comfortable talking together about the dangers of sexual abuse, the tricks that abusers use on kids to keep them silent from telling anyone about the abuse, what to do if they are sexually abused, how to get away from their abuser, and other unsafe scenarios.
